Kids Summer Reading

2018 Events & Activities

An independent annual 6 week reading program
for children ages 0 - 11 held at the library each
summer. Pre-registration is required.

Reading Takes You Everywhere!
June 4 - July 14

Thank you to everyone who made this
year's summer reading program a success!

(There is a 10 book checkout limit per child
during summer reading.)

How it works...

Register at the Main Library or the Branch Library --
families can register on one family registration
-- and everyone who registers gets a
registration prize and brochure to track your
reading. The goal for ages 0-5 is 15 books read.
The goal for ages 6+ is to complete 15 hours of
reading. Fill in or stamp a box in your brochure
for each book or hour you read.

Bring your brochure to the Main or Branch library
starting June 4 to have your brochure checked
and receive a prize and reading tickets. Receive a
prize and reading tickets every time you get your
brochure checked. Reading tickets can be used
for a chance to win awesome prizes! (Keep track of
your tickets! No replacements for lost tickets.)
Bring your
brochure to a librarian and receive a prize when
you reach your goal! Prizes available June 4
through July 14.

1 box = 1 reading ticket

At the end of the summer, we'll draw winners for the
prizes. The more you read, the more chances you
have to win!

Read whatever you want including books, ebooks,
audiobooks, magazines, manga, and graphic

Earning extra reading tickets...

Earn an extra reading ticket every time you attend
a library program! Extra tickets can also be earned
by reading something from a new genre; reading
a book about a place you've never visited; learning
three words in another language; and donating an
item to ER Abroad's medical mission (you'll find
their donation wish list on the back of your brochure).
