Library's web site through the
Alliance Digital Media Library (ADML).

All you need is 5 minutes a day and an email
address to join one of our FREE online book
clubs! Click on the image for more information

The Main and Branch Library will be
closed on Monday, September 1.

Shoes for Water
August 1st - 31st
The Main and Branch Library will be
collecting new or used shoes throughout
the month of August to help provide
clean drinking water for those in need. All
shoes will be donated to WaterStep.

Fall Book Sale Donations
August 25 - September 12
On Monday, August 25th, the library will
begin receiving donations of books, DVDs,
and CDs for the annual Friends of
Washington Library (F.o.W.L.) Fall Book
Sale. We cannot accept donations of
encyclopedias, textbooks, Reader's Digest,
or National Geographic magazines. For
any other magazine donations, please call
Erin at the Main Library at (309) 444-2241.
Donations can be dropped off at the Main
Library through September 12th. The Fall
Book Sale will be held September 20 - 24,
with a F.o.W.L. member preview on Friday,
September 19, from 5:00-7:00pm.

Teen Movie Night at the Branch
Friday, August 29, 5:00-7:30m
Teens (grades 6-12), join us at the
Branch Library in Washington Plaza to
watch The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
Invite your friends for some free fun,
pizza, and other snacks!

Family Movie Night
Thursday, September 4, 6:30pm
Join us at the Main Library for some
free family fun watching The Adventures
of Milo & Otis
and enjoying snacks!

Thursday, September 4, 5:00pm
The Washington Advisory Board of Teens
will meet at the Main Library to help plan
events and discuss materials. The board
is for teens in grades 6-12 and meets
5:00-6:00pm on the first Thursday of each
month. Come be a part of teen planning!

Star Tour 2014
Saturday, September 6, 2:00-3:30pm
Star Tour USA 2014: Astronomy for
e, Size & Scale of the Universe
will be at the Main Library! Experience
this awe inspired 1 1/2 hour educational
and entertaining exploration of the universe
presented by Kevin Manning, a gifted
astronomer who has worked as a consultant
with NASA!

Sign and Sing
Monday, September 8, 9:15-9:45am
Children ages 1-5 are invited to the Main
Library to learn to sign with ever-popular
Abbey Cook from "Communication Junction"
as she combines music and stories with
American Sign Language! No registration

New Historical Society Case
Stop by and see the new Washington
Historical Society display at the Main
Library. Thanks to donations given in
memory of Marguerite and Gary Lucas,
a display case has been purchased
by the Historical Society and placed at
the Main Library to show treasures from
the Society’s collection.
